SafetyLine System Implemented

As a further commitment to our employees health and safety, Caltech Surveys Ltd. is pleased to announce a step forward in our Health and Safety program with the implementation of the SafetyLine monitoring system by Solus Compliance Corporation.

SafetyLine is an automated IVR (Interactive Voice Response) monitoring system which our field crews are required to log into at the beginning of each shift and check in at required intervals during the day, and log out of at the end of their shift.

The system is accessible via wireless devices, over the internet, or even from pay phones. Crews working outside of cell range will be provided with a satellite phone as an extra safety precaution.

If a worker fails to check in at the required interval it will remind them by phoning them immediately. Five minutes later that worker is automatically placed into a state of emergency in the system, which initiates the emergency call list. SafetyLine will proceed to process the call list until it has reached an emergency contact, who will then acknowledge the emergency and begin the search procedures. Workers may also use a panic button on their phone to initiate the state of emergency.

The SafetyLine system covers all aspects of the Working Alone Legislation of the Occupational Health & Safety General Safety Regulations.
