Health and Safety

Caltech Surveys Ltd. is committed to protecting and promoting the health and safety of its employees. Safe work practices protect our employees, clients’ property, the environment and the public. We follow safety standards that meet or exceed our clients’ expectations and government regulations, as well as the worker safety principles developed by the petroleum industry’s task force on safety.

In addition to protecting lives, enabling employees to participate in identifying safety needs and safe work practices improves employee morale. Senior management, Caltech’s safety coordinator and supervisors are responsible for identifying safety needs, supplying safety equipment, communicating safety hazards, investigating hazardous conditions and accidents, and providing appropriate training. Safety managers and safety management practices are supported by input from employees.

Caltech’s employees and contractors are responsible for obeying all safety rules on company worksites, following safe work practices, wearing personal protective equipment, participating in safety training programs and informing supervisors of any unsafe work conditions. Employees and contractors who violate safety rules and safe work practices may face disciplinary action, dismissal or legal action.

In 2007, Work Site Alberta recognized Caltech’s ongoing commitment to protect the health and safety of our employees. We won a “2007 Best Safety Performer” award for our exceptional performance in workplace health and safety. This award, along with our Certificate of Recognition, demonstrates the importance that Caltech places on the safety of our employees.

By fulfilling our safety responsibilities, everyone employed by Caltech will share the benefits of a safe and healthy workplace.
